Sustainability is at the Heart of What We Do
Since we launched in 2019, being an eco-friendly business has been at the core of Making Meadows. We’ll be the first to admit we’re not perfect, but sustainability is a journey - one that evolves as new technologies and knowledge emerge. We’re always looking for ways to improve and make regular changes to ensure we’re doing our best for the planet.
FSC-Certified Paper & Ecolabel Standards
All of our writing and wrapping paper is printed on responsibly sourced paper from an FSC-certified supplier. This ensures that the paper we use meets high environmental and ethical standards. It also means that our manufacturers comply with Ecolabel standards, tracking the environmental impact of their products from wood sourcing to paper production.
100% Recyclable Products & Plastic-Free Packaging
Most of our products are paper-based, meaning they are 100% recyclable. Our cards are packaged “naked” and our writing paper is wrapped in tissue paper and paired with Kraft recycled envelopes that are made in the UK. We are proud to say we never use plastic in our packaging. On the rare occasion when extra protection is needed, we use vegetable starch bags, which are fully compostable at home.
Designed, Printed & Shipped in the UK
Most of our products are designed, manufactured, and shipped from our small studio in Surrey, UK. We print in small batches or on demand, allowing us to reduce waste, manage recycling effectively, and minimise our carbon footprint.
While a few of our products are outsourced due to expertise requirements, we always strive to work with local or UK-based companies to support the community and reduce transportation emissions.
Giving Back To Nature
Sustainability is about more than just how we produce our products—it’s about giving back to the planet. That’s why, for every personalised writing paper set sold, we donate £1.50 to Buglife, a charity committed to creating B-Line Meadow Highways to support pollinators and wildlife.
B-Lines are networks of wildflower pathways that connect existing wildlife areas across the UK, helping bees, butterflies, and other vital species thrive. Your £1.50 contribution plants 6 square meters of wildflowers, making a meaningful impact on biodiversity.

Meet Our Founder
With her love for animals, vegan hair dyes, vegetarian food, and second-hand clothes, Samantha (our founder) is incredibly passionate about making eco-conscious decisions. She strives to consider the environment in every aspect of her life, and this passion shines through in how Making Meadows is run.
